Regulator Service
There are positive and negative terms for those who want to succeed in the spiritual life. For example, if you want to start a fire to use heat (positive commandment), as well as avoid spilling water (negative output), which would harm their recovery.
There are four pillars of sinful life: the consumption of meat, fish and eggs, making intoxication, attempt to enjoy illicit sex (sex outside of marriage), and gambling. These activities pollute the consciousness, devotional service while purifies the conscience.
On the other hand, who performs these activities will suffer a heavy karmic burden. That is, will to experience very negative reactions in the future for their activities today.
One normally thinks that regulations are the restrictions on freedom, but a little reflection will help one realize that this is not true. When crime in the activity is restricted, citizens are "free" walking the streets. When regulating their eating and exercise, you become a "free" to enjoy a healthy life. Similarly, by not participating in the Meat consumption, intoxication, illicit sex and gambling, the individual is freed from its negative effects. Your consciousness becomes less restricted by material conditions that can possess a human body.
Service to God. The Vedic literature recognize that each person is an individual with specific skills and trends. A devotee is engaged in Krishna's service, in accordance with these inclinations. What makes the activities of devotional service is that the results are offered to Krishna.
In the Bhagavad-gita, Krishna stresses that all results of all our activities should be offered to him. l consultation devotee spiritual master to determine which activities are in harmony with nature psychophysics, and how to offer the results of these activities to the Supreme Lord. The devotee can be recruited in a variety of activities, but in each the devotee is thinking of pleasing Krishna and the spiritual master.
Devotional service is open to all regardless of caste, creed, race or sex. Devotees see beyond the body to the soul, and therefore are free from any material prejudice. A devotee should never be regarded as a man, female, black, white or any other designation that belongs to the body. A devotee is simply seen as a servant of God.
1. Bhagavad-gita 9.27
The six senses. In the Bhagavad-gita Krishna explains that we have six senses, including the mind. Today, because we are identifying with the material body, which are controlled by these senses. Depending on which of three modes of nature (goodness, passion and ignorance) we happen to be affected by, we certtain objects for each of these senses, to meet them (the senses). As you think about the meaning of the objects you develop a craving or attachment to them and this makes it a desire to try to get them. However, a Once obtained, the senses demand more or different sense objects. The person who relies on their senses to gain knowledge is puzzled since his senses are defective.
This world is full of variety. Corporations are the creation and delivery of products not only to comply with all types of desires to please the senses, but to stimulate new desires, with the help of mass media. Thus, the living entity is being pulled here and there by his senses, in a never-ending attempt to become satisfied.
Only by engaging the senses in the service of God can be freed from slavery to the senses.
